Oh Beautiful
“Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”
- Rumi
There is So Much Beauty Here
And yet, so often we only see the chaos, injustice, heartbreak or pain.
This is the eve of our 250th birthday as a nation.
And on this special occasion, I want to celebrate this:
We have created something very beautiful.
And...
It's this beauty that is ever-evolving into greater good.
May we "Let the beauty we love be what we do..."
Oh, there is, in fact
So Much Beauty Here
For Spacious Skys
"Every time I see the sunshine in the bright blue sky...
I cannot help but think how blessed I really am to see another day. There are so many who may have not woken up to see it. But I have been blessed."
- Donna Karan
For Amber Waves of Grain
"From one seed...A whole handful. That was what it meant to say: The bounty of the earth."
-J. M. Coetzee
For Purple Mountain Majesties
“Mountains...Are earth’s undecaying monuments.”
– Nathaniel Hawthorne
Above the Fruited Plain
“Look at all the life in this...Every pip could become a tree. And every tree could bear another hundred fruits. And every fruit could bear another hundred trees. And so on to infinity. Just imagine."
- David Almond, Skellig
America, America, God Shed His Grace on Thee
"Some may wonder why I chose wildflowers...When there are hunger and unemployment and the big bomb in the world. Well, I, for one, think we will survive. And I hope that along the way we can keep alive our experience with the flowering earth. For...the bounty of nature is also one of the deep needs of man."
- Lady Bird Johnson
And Crown Thy Good with Brotherhood
"We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; And among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run As causes. And they come back to us As effects."
- Henry Melvill
From Sea to Shining Sea
"The abundance of God is like...A Mighty Ocean. So vast you cannot possibly exhaust it or cause a shortage for others. You can go to this inexhaustible ocean with only a small cup. And bring away only that small cup
of bounty and blessing. Or If you have faith enough, you can take a bucket and bring away a bucketful. It makes no difference to the ocean. Nor does it matter how often you go. Abundance is always there."
- Henry Thomas Hamblin
Dear Tea Drinker,
My blessing to you this month: May we celebrate the beauty of our nation.
Us.
You.
Me.
We.
As we focus not on that which is "wrong" but all that is "right".
WE create peace... full moments.
WE offer kindness and compassion.
WE appreciate the beauty all around us.
WE crown all brothers with good.
And THAT is, indeed...
Oh So Beautiful
As always:
Thank you
I'm honored to be your herbal tea farmer.
Be well,
Shannon
