Observing Hope

"I think I'd like to be remembered as someone who really helped people have a little humility and realize that we are a part of the animal kingdom not separated from it."
-Jane Goodall

"The tree I had in the garden as a child...
My beech tree.

I used to climb up there and spend hours.
I took my homework up there.
My books.
I went up there if I was sad.
And it just felt very good to be up there among the green leaves and the birds and the sky."

-Jane Goodall

Jane Goodall has been an inspiration to many.
Including me.

Her message:
Gentle
Soft-spoken
Authoritative
Hopeful
In honor of her recent passing, this month I want to share with you some words of hope
inspired by one of my heroes.

"You aren't going to save the world on your own...

...but you might inspire a generation of kids to save it for all of us.

You would be amazed at what inspired children can do."

-Jane Goodall

I have observed...
There is a beautiful connection between nature and children.

What Jane Taught Me: You don't have to be a grown-up to transform the world.
On My Farm: Children bring their...

Wide-Eyed Wonder
Curiosity
Joy

They transform this tea farm into a playground.
Like magic!

"For those who have experienced the joy of being alone with nature...

...there is really little need for me to say much more;

For those who have not, no words of mine can ever describe the powerful, almost mystical knowledge of beauty and eternity that come, suddenly and all unexpected."

-Jane Goodall

I have observed...
Nature does draw near to us...
  like a butterfly...
     like a chimpanzee...

When we honor it.

What Jane Taught Me: There is a calm, patient, gentleness to which nature comes to us.
On My Farm: An uplifting whiff of peppermint

A soft brush of a butterfly wing
A gentle hum of a honeybee

These are nature's gifts to us when we are still enough to receive them.

“Hope,” Jane said, “is what enables us to keep going in the face of adversity...

...It is what we desire to happen, but we must be prepared to work hard to make it so.”

-Jane Goodall

I have observed...
That "hard work" is not

"hard"

And it is not

"work"

When it's motivated by hope.

What Jane Taught Me: Hope is a beautiful motivator.
On My Farm: Hope is a silent, gentle sip of tea at sunrise.
Just before I roll up my sleeves and let the day begin.

In her final words, Jane Goodall said:
“Do your best while you're still on this beautiful Planet Earth that I look down upon from where I am now."

Dear Retail Partner, this month, may we:

Be inspired by the wide-eyed wonder of children.

Experience the joy of being alone with nature, a cup of tea, a sunrise, a quiet walk.

Motivate ourselves with a small sip of tea and a large sip of hope, knowing that our actions make a difference.

As always:

Thank you

I'm honored to be your herbal tea farmer.

Be well,
Shannon
